    President Abdul Abdul Kalam Fellowship 2016-17 is offering by The University of South Florida for the young Indian students. The fellowship is given to the graduate students to practise PhD Degree at the University of South Florida and it covers the Tuition fees of the selected candidates.

    To give the tribute to the President APJ Abdul Kalam, this Postgraduate Fellowship is started.


    President Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Fellowship is announced in tribute of President A.P.J. Kalam. The University of South Florida’s mission is to deliver competitive undergraduate, graduate and professional programs to generate knowledge, foster intellectual development and ensure student success in a global environment.

    To be a part of this fellowship, the candidate should have completed graduate degree programme. Applicant must also have academic credentials and a passion for the STEM fields of study.


    Fields of Study

    The student award will be offered to an Indian graduate student seeking to pursue a PhD degree in the following subject/discipline at the University of South Florida:

    · Applied Anthropology

    · Applied Physics

    · Business PhD programs

    · Cell Biology, Microbiology & Molecular Biology

    · Chemistry

    · Computer Science & Engineering

    · Engineering

    · Criminology

    · Integrative Biology

    · Marine Science

    · Psychology

    Last Date : 1 March, 2016


    Awards Provided :

    The University of South Florida will give the following benefits to the selected candidates for Dr. Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Fellowship.

    (**) Upto a total of 4 years Waive in all Tuition fees

    (**) Contribute a stipend of $18,000 over the nine months of the fall and spring semesters ($2,000 per month) for up to four years. The Provost's Office will pay a nine month stipend for the first year with the department/college contributing a teaching/research assistantship for up to an additional three years.

    (**) Once the selected candidate of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Postgraduate Fellowship is enrolled at the University of South Florida for their first term, the total fellowship amount will be given to him/her by USF.

    (**) All other costs, like, airfare, housing at USF, etc. will be borne by the selected fellows.



    How to Apply :

    =>> The willing applicants are required to submit a USF Graduate Application form Online and receive a University ID number at the USF Graduate admissions portal.

    =>> Once the candidate admitted to USF, then the candidate will obey will all USF’s rules, regulations, processes and procedures.

    =>> After completion of online application, the applicants must required to scan the below mentioned documents in order to complete the application process and email all at KalamFellowship@usf.edu.

    Required Documents :

    Submit a letter explaining interest and describing their academic success and are of intended study.

    @. Statement of research and evidence of scholarly activity.

    @. Submit 3 letters of recommendation on academic or professional letterhead.
