    The online applications are open for the Maulana Azad National Fellowship for the academic year 2016-17 for minority students. This fellowship is formulated and sponsored by MOMA Ministry of Minority Affairs. The candidates who belongs to minority community i.e. Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Parsi, Buddhist and Jain are eligible for this fellowship but they must be pursuing higher studies like Regular and full time M.Phil/ Ph.D. Degrees in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.

    The fellowship application form are needed to be submitted Online by using MANF Application form. Total 756 fellowships are to be awarded to the most appropriate students every year. Three per cent are reserved for PH candidates belonging to minority community.

    The main motive of the fellowship scheme is to provide integrated five year fellowships in the form of financial assistance to the candidates belonging to minority communities as declared by the Central government to practise higher studies like M. Phil / Ph.D. at the Indian universities/ institutions or colleges.

    Eligibility Criteria :

    =@. The candidates should an Indian citizen.

    =@. He/she must belonging to minority communities as mentioned above.

    =@. To be eligible, the applicant should have passed the post graduation exam with minimum obtaining 50 per cent marks in concerned subject. The students must be keen to pursue full time research without JRF of UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR-NET.

    =@. The student’s parents/guardian annual income should not exceed Rs. Two lacs fifty thousand (2,50,000/-) from all sources.

    Benefits Provided :

    (#) The fellowship will be paid to the host instritution in the first week of every month.

    (#) The host institution will get departmental assistance of Rs. 3000/- per annum per student for providing infrastructure.

    Fellowship Amount :
    @ Rs.25,000/- p.m. for initial two years (JRF)
    @ Rs.28,000/- p.m. for remaining tenure (SRF)

    Contingency for Humanities & Social Sciences and Commerce:
    @ Rs.10, 000/- p.a. for initial two years
    @ Rs.20, 500/- p.a. for remaining three years

    Contingency for Science:
    @ Rs.12, 000/- p.a. for initial two years
    @ Rs.25, 000/- p.a. for remaining three years.

    Escorts/Reader Assistance:
    @ Rs.2,000/- p.m. in cases of physically and visually challenged candidates.

    Tenure of Fellowship :

    M. Phil : 2 years or submission of dissertation whichever is earlier- JRF 2 Years, SRF- Nil

    M.Phil + Ph.D. : 5 years or submission of Ph.D. thesis whichever is earlier – JRF: 2 years, SRF : Remaining 3 years.

    Ph.D : 5 years or submission of Ph.D. thesis whichever is earlier- JRF :2 Years, SRF: Remaining 3 years.

    Application Process :

    <>> To apply for Maulana Azad National Fellowship for Minority students, the candidates needs to go to the official website of UGC in order to apply Online.

    <>> The online application form is divided into two sections.

    <>> One section : The candidates must fill the personal Information including caste and physical disability certificate (if applicable) will have to be given.

    <>> Two Section : In this section, the candidates have to fill the post graduate qualifications, institute details, research, topic, supervisor, scholarship and employment details.

    Documents to be uploaded :
    Upload the scanned copies of the following documents.

    ** Domicile Certificate

    ** Minority Community Certificate (Affidavit on a non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.10/)

    ** Candidates recent colour photo and signature

    ** Master degree mark sheet

    ** Declaration or certificate from head of department/institution or competent authority of the university

    ** Physical Disability certificate.
