    To encourage education among the children and their parents, the Government of India has initiated Pre matric Scholarship Scheme for Other Backward Classes (OBC) students. This is a Centrally sponsored scheme and executed by the State Government or UTs and sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi inviting the applications for Pre-Matric Scholarship for the students of National Capital Territory of Delhi belonging to Other Backward Classes (OBC). The students of National Capital Territory of Delhi belonging to OBC, who are pursuing education from Class 1 to 10 in Govt./aided schools/ institute or Private school/ institute recognized by approved authority can apply for applications for the academic year 2017-18. Through this scholarship scheme, the students would be provided financial aid to the weaker section of society to complete their education.


    Eligibility Criteria for OBC Pre Matric Scholarship 2017-18 :

    è This scholarship is open for Other Backward Classes (OBC) students.

    è To be eligible for OBC Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme, the candidates must be studying from Class 1 to Class 10 in Government/aided schools/ institute or private schools recognized by appropriate authority.

    è Students of Public schools affiliated to Directorate of education/kendriya Vidyalaya/national open schools/ schools affiliated to NDMC/Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Delhi Cantonment Board are eligible to apply.

    è The candidates whose parents/guardians annual income from all sources does not exceed Rs.44,500/- (Rs. Forty Four Thousand and Five Hundred only) are eligible to apply.

    è The candidates who are availing any other scholarship from any other source are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

    è The students may not be allowed to take up employment or render help to parents in their work during the course of studies.

    è The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick shall be decided by the competent authority of the school.


    OBC Pre Matric Scholarship 2017-18 Rates :

    Class I to V :
    Rate for Day Scholar for 10 months : Rs. 250/-
    Rate for Hosteller for 10 months : NIL
    Ad-hoc Grant per annum : Rs. 500/-

    Class III to VIII :
    Rate for Day Scholar for 10 months : nil
    Rate for Hosteller for 10 months : Rs. 2000/-
    Ad-hoc Grant per annum : Rs. 500/-

    Class VI to VIII :
    Rate for Day Scholar for 10 months : Rs. 400/-
    Rate for Hosteller for 10 months : NIL
    Ad-hoc Grant per annum : Rs. 500/-

    Class IX to X :
    Rate for Day Scholar for 10 months : NIL
    Rate for Hosteller for 10 months : Rs. 2500/-
    Ad-hoc Grant per annum : Rs. 500/-

    Class IX to X :
    Rate for Day Scholar for 10 months : Rs. 500/-
    Rate for Hosteller for 10 months : NIL
    Ad-hoc Grant per annum : Rs. 500/-

    Amount of Scholarship will be credited to the students’ personal bank account.


    Application Process for OBC Pre Matric Scholarship 2017-18 Delhi :

    ~<>] The eligible candidates can download the scholarship application form from the official web portal of Departmental for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC/Minorities, Govt. of NCT of Delhi, ie. scstwelfare.delhigovt.nic.in.

    ~<>] The candidates can also obtain the application form from the counter of this Deptt.

    ~<>] The candidates can also type the prescribed format of application on plain paper.

    ~<>] The application form submitted individually will not be accepted.

    ~<>] The candidates should also submit some other documents along with the application form to do the application process complete.


    Required Documents along with Application Form :

    (@) Self declaration of family income in the prescribed format is required.

    (@) OBC caste certificate in the name of the student should be issued by S.D.M./Deputy Commissioner, Government of N.C.T. of Delhi.

    (@) One Passport size photograph with signature thereon.

    (@) Hosteller Certificate (if applicable)

    (@) Details of Students Bank Account with all the details.


    Submission of the Application Form:

    Head Of institution/school should send the consolidated proposals to the below mentioned places.

    For the students of schools affiliated to Municipal Corporation of Delhi –

    The complete application form in all respects, has to be sent to the Head of the school who will, in turn, send all the application forms to the concerned zone. The zone in charge has to submit it to the concerned authority’s address as given below:

    Address : Assistant Education Officer, 15th Floor, Civic Centre, Minto Road, New Delhi.


    For students of schools affiliated to NDMC :

    The complete application form in all respects, has to be sent to the Head of the school who will, in turn, submit it to the concerned authority’s address as given below:

    Address : Deputy Education Officer, Department of Education, 10th Floor, Palika Kendra, Sansad Marg, New Delhi.


    For students of schools affiliated to Directorate of Education :

    The complete application form in all respects, has to be sent to the Head of the school who will, in turn, submit it to the concerned authority’s address as given below:

    Address : Deputy Director School/Planning, Education Department, Old Patrachar Building, Timarpur, Delhi- 52.


    For students of schools affiliated to Delhi Cantonment Board :

    The complete application form in all respects, has to be sent to the Head of the school who will, in turn, submit it to the concerned authority’s address as given below:

    Address : Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Delhi Cantonment Board, Delhi Cantonment, Delhi- 110013.


    For students of schools affiliated to Kendriya Vidyalaya :

    The complete application form in all respects, has to be sent to the Head of the school who will, in turn, submit it to the concerned authority’s address as given below:

    Address : Office of Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Delhi Region, JNU campus, New Delhi.


    For students of Recognized Public schools, National Open Schools and other schools approved by the Government:

    The duly filled in application form has to be submitted to the Head of School, who will then submit the consolidate proposal to the below mentioned address.
