    The National Competition 2017 is being organized by the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA). PCRA has taken initiatives for spreading awareness in the society at a young age for Petroleum products for conservation and environmental protection. With the cooperation of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, children will be advised for petroleum conservation at the school level. PCR is doing such activities. Under this competition organized in schools across the country, there will be painting, national level quiz competitions and individuals quiz competitions with essay writing competitions. The National winner of PCRA Painting, Quiz and Essay Writing Competition will be given a Singapore Trip and a Laptop.     PCRA Quiz Competition : For quiz competition, minimum 30 students from one school must be registered to become eligible to form a team. For quiz, the questions shall pertain to Agriculture, conservation, pertroleum, environment, transport, General studies and other categories.


    Date Schedule for PCRA Painting, Quiz and Essay Writing Competition 2017 :

    Online Registration for competition Starts From : 15th July, 2017

    Online Registration for competition Ends : 15th September, 2017

    Result Declaration : December, 2017

    Award Distribution : 16th January- 15th February, 2018


    Eligibility Criteria for PCRA Painting, Quiz and Essay Writing Competition 2017:

    Essay Competition :

    Students studying from Class 8 to 10 are welcomes to apply for competition.

    Painting Competition :

    Two Categories :
    Junior Category : Classes 5 to 7
    Senior Category : Classes 8 to 10

    The participation of the students should be done through their school. Individual participation is not allowed.

    Quiz Competition :

    Students studying from Class 8 to 10 are welcomes to apply for competition.

    All Indian Schools recognized by Central and State Boards of India are eligible to participate in this competition.

    Essay Competition :

    ** First Prize : One for Each Language (23) – Singapore Trip and Laptop

    ** Second Prize : One for Each Language (23) – Laptop and Cash Prize of Rs. 20000

    ** Third Prize : One for Each Language (23) – Laptop and Cash Prize of Rs. 10000

    ** 17 Consolation Prizes for Hindi and English only : A Laptop

    Application Process of PCRA Painting, Quiz and Essay Writing Competition 2017

    Essay Competition :

    (**) Schools to conduct Essay competition in one or more of the following languages- Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarat, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Maithili, Dogri, Nepali, Bodo and Santhali.

    (**) One student can participate in only one language.

    (**) TOPIC: Small Steps of fuel conservation can make a big change

    (**) Essay should not exceed 700 words.

    (**) Student must submit essay in his/her own handwriting.

    (**) It is mandatory for the all the participating schools to conduct the competition in their school premises.

    (**) The Time limit of Essay will be One (10 Hour.)


    Quiz Competition :

    (**) Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can participate.

    (**) This competition shall be conducted only online through web portal www.pcracompetitions.org and mobile application PCRA-Competitions available on Android/Windows/IOS Platform to participate.

    (**) A minimum of 30 students must be registered by the school, for becoming eligible to form a school team for next round.

    (**) The competition shall be conducted in school premises.

    (**) Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Petroleum, Environment, Transport, General Studies and other categories.

    (**) The schools shall register the names of all Students against the school ID on the portal www.pcracompetitions.org and all the students can then participate as Individuals in First Round.

    (**) Each student shall be given a time limit of 10 minutes to attempt the quiz of 10 questions.

    (**) Software will select the two best scoring participants, who will form the School team.

    (**) The School team (two best scoring participants) shall then participant in the second round or District level round, by logging in the portal, in school premises itself. This round will have 15 questions with a time limit of 10 minutes.



    Painting Competition :

    (**) Only schools in India recognized by Central & State Boards of India, can participate.

    (**) It is mandatory for the Schools to conduct the competition during school hours in their school premises.

    (**) School can conduct competitions in any one or both the categories. However, a minimum of 30 students must participate in each category in which the school submits its entry.

    (**) Use only A3 size art sheet. The work may be executed using pencils, pencil colours, crayons, water colours etc.

    (**) Use of Collage/Patchwork is not permitted in the paintings at all levels of competition.

    (**) Topic : ‘Small Steps of fuel conservation can make a big change’

    (**) Time Limit: 2 Hours

    (**) School is required to evaluate the entries for each category, and upload best two entries in each category (Junior/Senior), in which the competition has been conducted at the school, on www.pcracompetitions.org

    (**) The students whose paintings are adjudged in the best 100 paintings in each category, on All India basis, will be invited to participate in a National Final round at Delhi.



    Quiz for Individual Student :

    (**) Any child can participate.

    (**) This competition shall be conducted only online through this web portal pcracompetitions.org and mobile application PCRA-Competitions available on Android/Windows/IOS Platform.

    (**) Child to register online and upload scan copy or photo of I-card of school / certificate of Principal / Aadhar Card / Class 10th Certificate. An activation link will be sent to his/her email ID for participation.

    (**) Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy & Fuel, Transport, General Studies and other categories.

    (**) First level Quiz -If the child answers 6 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Bronze Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID, and can be downloaded from the portal itself. The second window shall open on qualifying the first level.

    (**) Second Level Quiz will have 15 questions with a me limit of 10 minutes. If the child answers 10 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Silver Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID, and can be downloaded from the portal itself. He/she becomes eligible for Final level.

    (**) Final Level Quiz will have 30 questions with a me limit of 15 minutes. If the child answers 25 or more correctly, an online certificate of proficiency (Gold Level) is issued to his/her registered email ID and can be downloaded from the portal itself.
