    To aware the public about Energy conservation means power saving, the Pertroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA) is conducting PCRA Painting, quiz and Essay Writing National competition 2016-17. Small children useful tips may allow them to visit Japan. In the competition, the students of Classes 5 to 10th studying in recognized schools with India, affiliated to all Boards, Central or State can participate.

    According to CBSE, for PCRA contest, the Theme of Essay will be Save Fuel for Better Environment and Health and Theme for painting competition will be ‘Clean Fuel, Better Life’.

    There will be five rounds for quiz competition for Schools. All competitions will be held after 16th October. For school team, a minimum of 30 students must register.

    The last date to apply for Online application for Essay and Painting competition will be 31.10.2016.


    Date Schedule for PCRA Competition :


    Online application : 16.08.2016 to 20.11.2016

    Announcement of final result : December, 2016

    Distribution of Awards : 2nd half of January, 2017


    Date Schedule for PCRA Quiz competition :


    Online Quiz Starts : 16 August, 2016

    Online Quiz ends : 20 November, 2016

    District level round participation last round : 20 Nov., 2016

    State Level opens : 23.11.2016

    State level ends : 30.11.2016


    Eligibility Criteria :

    Essay Competition :-

    The students studying from classes 8 to 10 are eligible to participate in PCRA Essay competition.

    Painting Competition :-

    Junior : Classes 5 to 7

    Senior : Classes 8 – 10

    Candidates are eligible to participate through their schools only. Individual participation is not allowed.

    Schools can participate in both essay and painting competitions.

    Quiz Competition :-

    The students of classes 8 to 10 are eligible to participate in quiz contest.

    All the Indian schools recognized by Central and State Boards of India can participate.


    Benefits Provided :

    The selected candidates will be distributed with awards in the Inaugural Function of Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight 2017 during the Second half of January, 2017.

    Painting :-

    First Prize : One for each Category :- A laptop along with a paid Trip to Japan

    Second Prize : One for each category : Rs. 15000/- along with a Laptop

    Third Prize : One for each category : A Laptop

    Essay :

    First Prize : One for each Language (23) :- A laptop along with a paid Trip to Japan

    Second Prize : One for each Language : Rs. 15000/- along with a Laptop

    Third Prize : One for each Language : A Laptop

    Quiz :

    First Prize : Two :- A laptop along with a paid Trip to Japan

    Second Prize : Two : Rs. 15000/- along with a Laptop

    Third Prize : Two : A Laptop

    A Certificate of Appreciation will be awarded to the Best Entry of each school


    Application Process :

    The participation of the candidates will only be done through Schools only.

    Painting Competition :

    The Theme : Clean Fuel, Better Life

    Minimum of 30 students must participate in each category in which the school submits its entry.

    The candidates can only use A3 size art sheet. Candidates can use pencils, pencil colours, crayons, water colour etc.

    The participants are not allowed to use Collage/patchwork in the paintings.

    Time Limit : Two hours.

    Essay Competition :

    The competition will be conducts during the schools hours only.

    Schools can conduct Essay competitions in one or more of the following languages- Hindi, English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Maithili, Dogri, Nepali, Bodo and Santhali. However, a minimum of 15 students must participate in each language in which the school submits its entry.

    One student can participate in only one language.

    Essay should not exceed 700 words.

    The essay should be submitted in students own handwiring.

    Topic : Save Fuel for Better Environment and Health

    Time Limit : 1 Hour

    Quiz competition :

    Quiz contest shall be conducted only online through website pcracompetitions.org and mobile application PCRA-competitions available on Android/Window/IOS platform.

    Student may register online and upload scanned copy or photo of I-card of schools or certificate of Principal school or enter school registration/admission number. A

    A UID and password will be sent to the participants email ID for participation.

    Questions shall pertain to Agriculture, Conservation, Environment, Energy & Fuel, Transport, General Studies and other categories.

    First level quiz will have 10 questions with a time limit of 10 minutes

    Second Level quiz will have 15 questions with a time limit of 10 minutes.

    Third level quiz will have 30 questions with a time limit of 15 minutes.
