    Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is organising 14th National Youth Parliament Competition for the year 2017-18. The colleges/universities recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), Central Government or State Government can participate in this competition. The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has invited applications from interested universities and colleges. Each of participating institutions/colleges will have to prepare a single team consisting 50 or 55 students as a team member representing their institution.

    Date Schedule :

    Closing Date to Apply : 31 October, 2016

    Orientation Courses : January/February, 2017

    Group level ( in college itself) : by September, 2017

    National Level Evaluation : by December, 2017

    Prize Distribution Function : by March, 2018

    Eligibility Criteria :

    All the colleges/universities recognized by UGC/ Government of India/ State Government are eligible to participate in National Youth Parliament Competition.

    Benefits Provided :

    The benefits will be provided to both Group and National level competition which are as follows:

    Group level competition benefits :

    The evaluating panel will give the award to each of the selected participating institutions for their performance.

    A certificate will be given to the coordinator and a maximum of six (6) students from among the members of the team of each participating institution may be selected for the award of individual prizes and certificates by the Ministry.

    National level competition benefits :

    Running Shield : First declared institution at National level will be awarded with a running shield. In case a particular institution wins the shield for continuously three years, then the shield will be retained permanently by that institution.

    Trophies : First declared institution will be awarded with one trophy.

    Prizes and Certificates : The shortlisted eight (8) meritorious students will be awarded with prizes and certificates.

    Application Process :

    There are two stages of 14th National Youth Parliament Competition which is based on the number of participating institution.

    First Stage : The first stage of competition is Group Level where the institution will be divided into various groups.

    Second Stage : The second stage will be the National Level between the winner of various groups.

    In each of the participating institutions, a team should consist 50 to 55 students representing their institution.

    The eligible universities/colleges who are willing to participate in the competition are required to submit the application along with four (4) proformas duly filled and countersigned by the competent authorities to this ministry latest by October 31, 2016.
