    Director of Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Meghalaya invites the applications for Merit-cum-Means, Post Matric and Pre Matric Scholarships for the academic session 2016-17 from the students who are the permanent residents of Meghalaya state and studying within and outside the state and belonging to Minority communities, ie. Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhist, Parsis and Jains. Online applications are needed to be submitted by the candidates for Fresh and Renewal of Scholarships.
    Merit cum Means Scholarships :

    {$}. This is a Central Sector Scheme. Under this Merit cum Means scholarship, the meritorious students of Minority communities are awarded for pursuing Technical and Professional courses at Under Graduate/Post Graduate level in an institution recognized by an appropriate authority who have obtained not below than 50 per cent marks or equivalent grade in the last final examinations.

    {$}. Applications for the Merit cum Means scholarship are to be submitted online by visiting to the website ie. scholarships.gov.in.

    {$}.The candidates have to submit the print out of duly filled in application form to their respective institution with all the supporting documents.

    {$}. The candidates can only apply online for Merit cum Means based scholarship. No offline application will be accepted.

    {$}. The candidates are also required to submit the Aadhaar number, which is mandatory.

    {$}. The candidates parents/guardians annual income should not exceed Rs. Two lacs Fifty Thousand (2,50,000/-) from all sources in order to be eligible for MCM scholarship.

    {$}.Last date of submission of online application by the student is October 31, 2016 fro Fresh and Renewal also.
    Post Matric Scholarship :

    <=> Post Matric Scholarship for Minority communities students are given ny the Ministry of Minority, Govt. of India. This is a Central Sector Scheme which is awarded to the commendable students belonging to minority communities, such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhist, Parsis and Jains students pursuing any course in Government/Private Institute from Class 11 to Ph.D level.

    <=> The candidates must have scored minimum 50 percent marks or equivalent grade in the last final examination in order to eligible for Post Matric Scholarship.

    <=> Annual income of the students parents should not exceed Rs. Two lacs (2,00,000) per annum.

    <=> The candidates have to apply online for PMS and the submit the application online through the website, scholarship.gov.in.

    <=> The candidates have to submit the duly filled in application form along with their supporting documents to their respective institution.

    <=> For Post Matric Scholarship, only online application will be accepted. No offline application will be entertained.

    <=> This is necessary for the student to submit the Aadhaar number.

    <=> Last date of submission of Post Matric Scholarship online application for Fresh and Renewal by the student for Class 11 and 12 is July 31, 2016.

    <=> Last date for the students for Higher education like it is, Diploma, B.Ed., M.Phil. and Ph.D. etc is October 31, 2016.
    Pre-Matric Scholarship :

    ==@==] Pre matric scholarship are to be awarded to the meritorious students of minority communities mentioned above by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Govt. of India. The scholarship are given for pursuing studies in Government or Private School from Class 1 to 10.
    ==@==] The student must have scored not below than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the last final examination in order to eligible for Pre matric scholarship.


    ==@==] Pre matric scholarship application form are to be submitted online by going to the website scholarship.gov.in.

    ==@==] Print out of duly filled in application are also to be submitted to their respective institution along with all supporting documents.

    ==@==] Only online application for pre matric scholarship will be accepted. Offline scholarship will not be accepted.

    ==@==] Aadhaar number is mandatory to submit for the student.

    ==@==] The annual income of the students parents should not exceed Rs. One Lac (1,00,000) per annum.
