CGWB 3rd National Essay Competition 2017-18 on Swachh Jal – Swacch Bharat Water Conservation

    The Central Ground Water Board (CGWB), Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation will organize an 3rd Essay competition for the year 2017-18 at the national level to make the youth aware about water pollution prevention and water conservation. The competition is open to all of the age group of 18 years. Theme for Phase-I of essay competition is ‘ Swachh Jal- Swachh Bharat’. The main goal of this competition is to make the youth aware about water pollution and to conserve water and to include their parents and society in this charitable work. The maximum length of the essay is 1500. This competition will be held in two phases across the country. The last date for entries for this essay competition is 31 December, 2017. Ten best winners in other words, 10 best essays of Phase-I in each state will be entitled to participate in Phase-II. The theme for Phase-II will be given at the venue. To participate in this essay competition, the candidates must have Aadhaar or Aadhaar enrolment number. 60 winners of the essay competition will be rewarded with cash, which includes prizes ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000. The eligibility for the competition, application process are furnished below.

    Eligibility Criteria for CGWB 3rd National Essay Competition :

    è The competition is open to all in the age group up to 18 years.

    è It is mandatory for all participants to have Aadhaar/ Aadhaar enrolment

    è Employees of Ministry of Water Resources, RD & GR and all its organizations will not be eligible for participation.

    CGWB 3rd National Essay Competition Benefits :

    {#@}. In the first phase, the winners of ten best essays from each State or Union Territory will be given a chance to participate in the second phase of essay competition.

    {#@}.Also a certificate of participation will be given as well. The subject of the second phase will be given to the selected candidates on the same venue where the competition will be conducted.

    {#@}.Step wise prize and number and Amount of Prize :

    First Prize : 10 numbers and Rs. 50,000 each

    Second Prize : 10 numbers and Rs. 25,000 each

    Third Prize : 10 numbers and Rs. 15,000 each

    Consolation Prize : 30 numbers and Rs. 5,000 each

    Application Process for CGWB 3rd National Essay Competition 2017-18 :

    ~@~ To participate in this Essay competition, the candidates are required to send one essay and it may be in Hindi or English or Regional language of State.

    ~@~ The essay could be sent through email or post to the to the concerned Nodal Officer of CGWB.

    ~@~ The Regional Director/ Head of Office/Officer- in-Charge of the Regional Offices/State Unit Offices of CGWB are Nodal Officers for the Essay Competition for the State/UT’s under their jurisdiction.

    ~@~ The theme of Essay Phase -I :-“ Swachh Jal – Swachh Bharat”.

    ~@~ Details of the participant including name, date of birth, father’s/mother’s name, profession (student, working etc.), name/address of educational institution/work place, communication address, telephone/mobile number(s), E-mail ID etc., are to be furnished along with the essay.

    ~@~ Each essay should not exceed 1500 words.

    ~@~ All the participants should submit/attach a coloured passport size photograph alongwith their essay.

    ~@~ Manuscripts of the Essay can also be scanned and sent to the concerned Nodal Officer through e mail.

    Documents Required :

    (*) All the selected ten participants will bring their proof of age like certificate for class 10th, Aaadhar Card/ Driving license/ Voter ID Card or some other such authentic document

    (*) All ten winners will bring details of bank account linked with Aadhaar card for the purpose of payment of prize money.

    (*) Scanned copy of colored passport size photograph of the candidate.

    Selection Criteria for CGWB 3rd National Essay Competition 2017-18 :

    <>> The youth will have to write their essay on the given theme and sent at the address of the Regional Offices of Central Grid Water Board and their Director.

    <>> In the first stage only the nodal officer will accept the essay written in Hindi, English or regional languages.

    <>> The right to select the best essay written in the competition will be done by the nodal officers and the judges selected by them. Only the decisions taken by them will be valid.

    <>> The participants of these best ten essays would be called in person for competing in Phase-II of essay competition and the theme of this phase will be given at the venue.
