    Department of Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities, Government of Tamil Nadu invites the applications for Merit cum Means based Scholarship 2016-17 from the Minorities. The Minority communities, ie. Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jain and Buddhist students of Tamil Nadu state are applicable for this MCM Scholarship. The main motto of this scholarship scheme is to provide financial assistance to the deprived and meritorious students of minority communities so that they are able to purse professional and technical courses. The online applications are needed to be submitted in the prescribed format.

    Last Date : 31 October, 2016

    Eligibility Criteria :

    ó The students should be a resident of Tamil Nadu state.

    óHe/she must be belonging to minority communities, ie. Muslim, Christians, Sikhs, Parsis, Jain and Buddhist.

    ó Student must be studying in India only.

    ó The annual income of the students’ parent should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/- from all sources.

    óThe candidate must fulfill all the eligible conditions in order to apply for MCM Scholarship.

    Rate of scholarship :

    Maintenance Assistance for 10 Months in a year :
    Hosteller : Rs. 10,000/- per annum
    Day Scholar : Rs. 5,000/- per annum

    Course Fee :
    Hosteller : Rs. 20,000/- per annum or actual whichever is less
    Day Scholar : Rs. 10,000/- per annum or actual whichever is less

    Application Process :

    @. The candidates belonging to minority communities and pursuing Technical or professional courses at UG/ PG level in an institution recognized by an appropriate authority are required to apply for Scholarship Application online.

    @. The application form should be accompanied with the scanned and uploaded documents.

    Required Documents :
    a) Student Photo. (Mandatory)

    b) Institution Verification Form. (Mandatory)

    c) Self declaration of Income Certificate by the student. (Mandatory)

    d) Self declaration of community by the student. (Mandatory)

    e) In case of Fresh: Self Attested Certificate of ‘Previous Academic Mark sheet’ as filled in Form. (Mandatory)

    f) In case of Renewal: Self-Attested Certificate of Previous Year Marksheet as filled in the Form. (Mandatory)

    g) Fee Receipt of current course year. (Mandatory)

    h) Proof of Bank Account in the name of student. (Mandatory)

    i) Aadhaar Card (optional)

    j) Residential Certificate. (Mandatory)

    Procedure of Online Application :

    {#} For Online registration, the candidates needs to go to the National Scholarship Portal website and click on Student Login and New User option.

    {#} An application will be open up which will be available in five different tabs, such as Personal Details, Academic Details, Scheme Details, Bank Details and Contact Details.

    {#} Then submit the application form.

    {#} Once successfully submitted application form, a Permanent ID will be generated on the screen.

    {#} Keep safe this ID number as this will be required to open your online submitted application at any stage.
