    Postgraduate Scholarships 2017-18 are offered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB)/Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) to the suitable candidates for studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions. Every year approx. 150 scholarships are awarded to the most suitable candidates. If you are keen to participate in this ADB/JSP Scholarship, then the detailed information of scholarships are furnished below for you.

    Eligibility Criteria for ADB/JSP Scholarship 2017-18 :

    ó. The students who have admitted to an approved MA/PhD course at a participating academic institution are eligible for this scholarship program.

    ó. To be eligible, an applicant should be 35 years old or younger

    ó. He/ she must be in good health.

    ó. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.

    ó. An applicant must have a superior academic record.

    ó. On successful completion of student’s study programs, scholars are expected to return to their
    home country to contribute to its economic and social development.

    ó. Scholarships are available to citizens of the following countries/areas:

    ADB/ JSP Scholarship 2017-18 Benefits :

    (#@) The selected candidates will be provided full tuition fee.

    (#@) They will also get a monthly allowance for expenses, housing, books and instructional materials, medical insurance and travel.

    (#@) A Special Grant will be given for thesis preparation to the students engaged in Research work.

    (#@) Initially the scholarship will be given for one (1) year duration which will be extended for a second year of course, if required. For Master and Doctorate program maximum two (2) years of duration of scholarship is given.

    Application Process for ADB/ JSP Scholarship 2017-18 :

    è To apply for scholarship programe, the students should requests an application forms from the chosen academic institution.

    è Applicant should indicate to the academic institution that they are applying for admission and that they would like to be considered for the ADB-JSP Scholarship.

    è Then the candidate are required to submit the completed institution application form and required documentation, including the ADB-JSP application form to the academic institution.

    è All the required documents should be accurate and complete in all respect.

    Required Documents :

    *) Candidates are also required to submit their latest income tax return

    *) Certification of their annual salary or monthly salary can also be submitted.

    *) Also submit parent’s income certificate.

    Selection Criteria for ADB/ JSP Scholarship 2017-18 :

    {<>} First of all, an academic institution will screen and rank the applicants, based on its own selection criteria.

    {<>} The academic institution will then submit its ranked list of applicants to ADB, including a description of the score/grading system which is the basis for the ranking.

    {<>} ADB will review the submission from the academic institutions and recommend awardees based on the selection criteria of ADB to the Executive Director of Japan for formal approval.

    {<>} Upon approval by the Executive Director of Japan, ADB will advise academic institutions on the successful candidates.

    {<>} The academic institution will inform all applicants of the outcome of the selection process and begin to make arrangements for the awardees take up their scholarships.

    {<>} The academic institutions will arrange for the signing of the acceptance of scholarship award by awardee wherein the scholars agree that after completion of their study, they will return to their home country.
